Hotels adopting responsible fuel practices: HRAAP
Says the association will continue to remain in touch with the concerned authorities and stakeholders
Hoteliers at a meeting in Visakhapatnam to review on short supply of commercial LPG

Visakhapatnam: Hotel & Restaurant Association of Andhra Pradesh (HRAAP) along with the AP Star Hotels Association (ASHA) has convened a meeting with hotel owners, promoters and General Managers of member organisations to review the present situation arising out of shirt supply of commercial LPG and its potential impact on their operations.
HRAAP reaffirmed that the association will continue to remain in touch with the concerned authorities and stakeholders while supporting its members and ensuring uninterrupted hospitality services to guests.
The meeting, held here on recently saw active participation from several member-hotels. In the absence of some owners, their respective promoters and General Managers represented the properties and shared their operational feedback and suggestions.
Speaking on the occasion, HRAAP president M V Pavan Kartheek stated that as of now there is no major disruption in the supply of commercial LPG for star hotels in Visakhapatnam and hotel operations are continuing normally.
However, members felt that if the situation continues for an extended period, there could be operational challenges in the coming days, and therefore the industry is proactively reviewing responsible fuel management practices.
He also appreciated the efforts of the government and concerned authorities in maintaining supply stability and expressed confidence that the authorities are closely monitoring the situation to ensure that the hospitality sector continues to function smoothly.
During the meeting, members discussed a few practical operational measures to optimize LPG usage, such as rationalising menus, minimising items requiring longer cooking duration, increasing the use of electrical cooking alternatives wherever feasible, and adopting efficient kitchen management practices to reduce fuel consumption.
Members also emphasized the importance of industry coordination and agreed to continue sharing best practices among hotels so that the sector can collectively respond to the situation in a responsible and coordinated manner.
Among others, G Venkata Krishna, vice president, AP Star Hotels Association (ASHA), B V Nataraj, along with several hotel owners, promoters and general managers from member hotels were present.
